Staff and services
Meet Melissa George
Melissa George has been teaching for over 20 years in various educational settings. She is a licensed special education teacher currently working in a Life Skills public high school program. In addition to her special education degree, she also hold an Elementary Education degree with ELL endorsement. She is CPI, crisis prevention, and DLM Facilitator certified with experience in ABA Therapy, Montessori, and social emotional learning. Her areas of expertise are working with children and adults of various ages with Autism, Anxiety, Depression, Down Syndrome, eating disorders, and more! Melissa has over 10 years experience working directly with PHP participants, homebound students, clinical behavioral & emotional needs with proficiency writing and implementing the following:

- IEP

- Transition Plans
- PLAAFP
- SOP
Special Education Services
Behavioral and Academic Tutoring, advocacy, Resources, Testing Interpretation, and assistance with outside resources/ supports for the student and/or families.
Independent Living Skills
Students and adults can get real life interventions and trainings to improve their overall independence in daily life whether in be how to fill out forms, navigate public transportation, learn about healthy eating, hygiene, cooking, cleaning, and/or shopping skills.
Job Skills
We offer job coaching opportunities, resume writing, interviewing skills, on-going job support for companies and individuals when hired, and tutoring related academic skills while increasing executive functioning and critical thinking.
Social Emotional Needs
We offer various workshops coupled with mental health professionals focused on skill development for people of all ages. These interactive sessions cover essential topics such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication, empowering learners to navigate their academic challenges with confidence.
